Hints for a successful course:
Medical: Please review the PADI medical release carefully – if you answer yes to any of the questions, you need to a medical clearance for scuba diving - by a doctor. Both you and your dive instructor need to know that any medication you are taking, or any medical condition you have, will not be affected by diving. You must have this completed before the pool dives– so don’t wait until the last minute to look at it.
Mouthpieces: Every person who uses our rental regulators will receive their own mouthpiece: it is a health concern. Even though we disinfect our regs – a mouthpiece is a personal thing. We have included a basic mouthpiece with our class cost, but if you wish to upgrade we have a great stock of comfortable mouthpieces.
Equipment: All of the equipment for the class is included. Many of you will wish to purchase your own equipment before, during or after the course. We have a fully stocked dive store in Wainwright, and have packages which will be of interest to divers wishing to purchase their own equipment.
Dry suit option - for diving in Canada: Comfort and warmth: those who wish to do their lake lessons in a dry suit, speak up early. Dry suit students wear the dry suit
in the pool for one pool session, and complete dry suit dvd and knowledge reviews. A full dry suit certification has an additional open water dive, and this dive can happen immediately after your Open Water course. This would be your first specialty course!
